Are you in good health generally?

Are you over 18 years old?

Do you have or have you had any corneal or retinal disease or damage?

How long has your vision been fairly stable?

These are basic yet important questions that you need to answer before having any vision correction surgery.

The Rahmani Eye Institute can help you answer these and other questions to make the determination if you are eligible for LASIK, PRK or other treatments and to achieve our highest goal-providing what is best for you.

When it has been determined that you are a candidate for vision correction surgery and you have scheduled an appointment for an initial examination at the Rahmani Eye Institute, you will be asked to stop wearing your hard contact lenses for at least a month before the examination. If your contacts are soft lenses the period during which you must refrain from wearing them is only two weeks. This helps to ensure that the lenses have not temporarily changed the shape or condition of the surface of your eyes. It is essential that your eyes have been in a "normal" unaided condition when they are measured so that an accurate mapping of your eyes can be made.
